What is the 1-d-1 wildlife exemption?
Texas Tax Code 1-d-1 lets land that qualifies for agricultural appraisal be managed for native wildlife instead of traditional farming or ranching — property taxes are then based on the land's productivity value, not market value. The trade-off: a wildlife management plan and documented activity every year, or the county can claw back five years of taxes plus interest.

How much land do I need to qualify?
